GENEXYZ, a meta-human creator company, has raised seed stage funding of US$1 million led by East Ventures

GENEXYZ, a pioneering company in Indonesia that brings virtual influencers and human IPs in Indonesia, today announces the close of its seed funding of US$1 million, led by East Ventures. This round of funding is also participated by other investors such as Emtek, MDI, Trinity Optima, and Massive Music. The investor in the previous round, Future Creative Network (FCN) also participated. The company aims to use the funding to expand its business reach to the Southeast Asian market and develop more interactive technology that can effectively connect with relevant communities and maximize its impact on clients.

The platform offered by GENEXYZ is based on advanced technology, enabling clients to interact with current virtual influencers and meta-humans while ensuring reliable and measurable interactions between brands and their audiences. By utilizing meta-human, brands can ensure innovative, consistent, and scalable interactions.

Founded in 2022, Belinda Luis (Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer) and Christian Melvin (Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer) saw the limitations in content, interactions, and influencer functions. They believe that building the credibility of the brand or company requires technology-based solutions to create optimum interactions and can represent the credibility of the companies in the long term. GENEXYZ presents as the modern solution for brands seeking the optimal voice of the market in the creative, advertising, and Web 3.0 ecosystems.

With a robust network in the technology realm, GENEXYZ aims to enhance its business scale in both B2B and B2C sectors. Alongside this growth, GENEXYZ has ventured into the D2C segment through a collaboration of Lavcaca with Eatlah, offering a special menu called Sego Iwak Pitik Endog Asin, catering to fast food enthusiasts with a unique local flavor. Lavcaca, known for her passion for singing hyperlocal songs and love for local cuisine, perfectly embodies the spirit of this collaboration. GENEXYZ has also partnered with several renowned brands, including Bango, Tokopedia, Tiket.com, Ismaya Group, Nivea, Pepsodent, and Ujung Ujungnya Dangdut (UUD).

Moreover, GENEXYZ has launched several new IPs, including a recent launch of a male character with unique and intelligent traits reflecting his everyday life. This character will be reliable for various branding and educational purposes, supported by advanced and hyper-realistic technology. This launch aligns with GENEXYZ’s focus on developing its meta-human business globally.

Throughout 2022, GENEXYZ achieved various milestones, including showcasing virtual human characters at live talk shows such as IdeaFest 2022, featuring Zivi (@zivi_zv), a meta-human character produced by GENEXYZ. Zivi’s persona, embracing meaningful activities and embodying the lifestyle of Gen Z, resonated with the audience during the event. Notably, Zivi had the opportunity to accompany Belinda as a speaker during the talk show session.

Sejumlah perusahaan yang turut mendukung perkembangannya yakni, Future Creative Network (FCN), PT Ekonomi Baru Investasi Teknologi (EBIT) sebagai anak perusahaan Bola (Bali United), Infia Group sebagai media holding group untuk Dagelan, Volix, dan Folkative. Tidak ketinggalan, Benz Budiman dari Creative Gorilla Capital sebagai strategic investor.

Selain itu, Genexyz juga telah dilengkapi dengan sistem berbasis data yang memungkinkan pengguna dapat menentukan IP DNA mereka sendiri berdasarkan alur cerita hidup karakter masing-masing dari virtual influencer atau customer service yang ingin dibangun. Tak hanya itu, keunggulan lainnya adalah untuk mengetahui voice of market dan mengontrol narasi serta keterlibatan komunitas di dalamnya.

Ide ini bermula ketika para pendiri Genexyz yakni Belinda Luis, co-founder dari Titans Tech, Christian Melvin, co-founder dari OU Creative, dan Adrianka Anka, founder dari Tanda Seru, bertemu pada tahun 2021 dan membahas persoalan mengenai ruang lingkup konten, interaksi, dan fungsi pemengaruh yang tidak luput dari keterbatasan akses dan skalabilitas.

Melihat keterbatasan tersebut, ketiganya menilai bahwa Indonesia memerlukan sebuah solusi berdasarkan teknologi untuk dapat menghubungkan setiap orang secara optimal dan merepresentasikan kredibilitas perusahaan dalam jangka panjang.

Co-founder & CPO Genexyz, Christian Melvin, menjelaskan teknologi meta human akan menjadi partner baru dalam perjalanan brand di setiap perusahaan. Meta human dapat dikembangkan menjadi selebriti, pemengaruh, interactive customer service, market makers dan market shakers baru yang berdampak di dunia kreatif dan periklanan.

Baru-baru ini, Genexyz juga mengambil inisiatif unik yaitu berkolaborasi bersama salah satu platform digital musik terbaru, ujung-ujungnya dangdut (UUD), dengan menghadirkan penyanyi dangdut virtual pertama yaitu Laverda Salsabila, yang akrab dipanggil Lavcaca.
